Trio Mancini
Cécile Roumy, Dirk Börner, and Shizuko Noiri met as students at the Schola Cantorum in Basle. The Italian music of the 18th Century, particularly the still rather unknown oeuvre of Francesco Mancini, represents the focus of their work.
Cécile Roumy (recorder) received instruction at the Centre de Musique Ancienne in Geneva and at the Schola Cantorum Basiliensis, where she began to engage in the art of ornamentation and the agogic technique used in 18th Century music. She teaches recorder at the Conservatoire Nationale in Besancon. Cécile Roumy has participated in numerous record and radio productions and has performed concerts all over Europe with a number of musical groups, including the Ensemble Elyma, the Ensemble Vocal de Lausanne, the Ensemble Baroque de Versailles, and the Camerata Vocale de Brive.
After finishing his piano studies at the Strasbourg Conservatory, Dirk Börner concentrated his efforts on the harpsichord and early music. He studied under Jesper Christensen at the Schola Cantorum Basiliensis, where he finished his studies with a diploma recognizing him as a soloist. He has performed throughout Europe, and he teaches at both the Conservatoire Nationale in Lyon and the Biel Conservatory.
In addition to her studies of piano and musicology at the University of Kyoto, Shizuko Noiri began to study lute under Ichiro Okamoto. At the Schola Cantorum Basiliensis, she completed her studies under Eugéne Dombois and Hopkinson Smith. In addition to her concert activities with René Jacobs, and groups such as the Baroque Orchestra Freiburg, the Concerto Vocale, and the Akademie für Alte Musik in Berlin, Shizuko Noiri is also involved as a continuo player and soloist in many radio productions and CD recordings.
