Les Inegales

Les Inegales Les Inégales Ensemble , founded by Rodrigo Tarraza and Christine Gevert in 1995, has devoted itself to French music of the 18th century, a period when the transverse flute and the cembalo or harpsichord were the most popular instruments in France. Because the influence of the French masters on the composers of other European courts (Germany, Italy etc.) was so all encompassing, the ensemble is also able to include the music of these other countries in its repertoire. To be able to interpret these pieces with a larger number of musicians, the violin, gamba, cello and vocals are also used alongside the transverse flute and cembalo.

Rodrigo Tarraza began his musical education by studying the flute at the National Conservatory of Chile. Later, he turned his attention to the Baroque transverse flute, which he studied under Barthold Kuijken in The Hague. Through his numerous concerts as a soloist and chamber musician, he has toured Europe and America. In 1993, he became a member of the Estudio MusicAntigua (College of Antique Music) in Santiago de Chile and has played in Europe with ensembles such as La Petite Bande and l'Arpa Festante. Rodrigo Tarraza, formerly a professor at the Universidad Católica de Chile, organizes and heads master courses in various countries of the world.

Christine Gevert started her career as a musician playing the organ in Chile where she completed her first course of studies, receiving the degree of Licenciatura en Musica. She came to Germany on a scholarship and studied in Hamburg under Wolfgang Zerer. This was followed by continuing studies as a cembalist under Nicholas Parle. Since 1995, she has been a freelance member of Estudio MusicAntigua, working with l'Arpa Festante and Berlin Baroque. Christine Gevert, formerly a university lecturer for the continuo at the Berlin School of Ecclesiastical Music, now gives master courses in Germany and Chile. For Carpe Diem she recorded the CD Dulcis Memoria.

Petr Wagner first studied the cello and musical sciences in Prague before he concentrated on the gamba, studying the viola da gamba, among other instruments, under Richard Boothby in London and Wieland Kuijken in The Hague and took master courses with Jaap ter Linden in Dresden. Petr Wagner plays with Les Inégales, accompanied by his own ensemble, Les Voix Humaines, and numerous other ensembles of antique music. He has recorded a large number of albums as both a soloist and continuo player.
